2007 Six Meter US and Canadian Championships
August 11-12, 2007

Invitation: The Puget Sound Six Meter Association invites Six Meter sailors to participate in the 2007 US and Canadian Six Meter Championships & Olin J Stephens II Classic Six Meter Cup for yachts designed prior to Dec 31, 1965.

Venue: Point Hudson Marina, Port Townsend, Washington. Racing will take place in the body of water known as Port Townsend between Indian Island and the Quimper Peninsula. All of the boats will be moored at the Point Hudson Marina, social activities will center around the meeting room which has been reserved for the event and is immediately adjacent to the moorage.

Rules: The regatta will be governed by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing in addition to the rules of the International Six Meter Class, U.S. National Championship Trophy and the Olin J. Stephens II Classic Six Meter Cup except as amended by the sailing instructions.

Eligibility: This regatta is open to all Six Meter Yachts as defined by the measurement Rule.

Eligible Yachts may enter by completing the entry form and paying the entry fee. Once paid, fees will not be refunded.

Schedule: 5 races are scheduled, conditions permitting.

Courses: Racing will be on courses of windward leeward design. Course lengths will be as conditions permit. All yachts, both classics and moderns shall start at the same time.

Scoring: For the US Championships and Canadian Championships, both divisions will be scored together with the top representatives from the respective countries winning their championships. For the Olin J. Stephens II Cup, only the classic yachts will be scored. Keeper awards will be given for first through third in each division. The series will be scored as provided in Appendix A as amended by the sailing instructions. The scoring penalty as provided in RRS 44.3 shall apply. If 5 races are sailed there will be one throw out. Three races shall constitute a championship.

Moorage and Launch: Moorage is available at Point Hudson Marina. Important: 20 slips are set aside for this event. They can only be formally reserved by and paid for by the boat owner. Haul out facilities are available at the Port Townsend Marina.

Lodging: Tent Camping is available at Ft. Flagler, reservations at www.camis.com/wa/. 20 minutes away. RV camping is available at Point Hudson, reservations contact same as moorage. Hotels are numerous and can be browsed at www.ptguide.com/accommodations/index.html
